Top 5 iPod Music Apps For Music Lovers

While you could make this same case for practically any type of genre or industry, the iPod (iPhone, iTouch, iNano, etc) release has done so much for the music industry that sometimes people seem to overlook it. There's music players, there's applications -- it's practically changed the way we think about music-on-the-go or portable music.

iTouch Applications

In the interests of giving music lovers exactly what they want without having to search through the many (and oftentimes very good) music apps out there on the iPod market today, we've gone ahead and found (in our opinion) the Top 5 iPod Music Apps that are currently available for your viewing and using pleasure. Oh and listening pleasure. Please do enjoy!

Note: We didn't use any specific criteria in the way we chose the apps. We like to believe that there is as much variety in the following five applications that can fully represent the totalitarian type way that music apps now populate the iPod landscape. There's something for everyone -- just don't expect it to be an all-music type list or all-music-games type list -- because it's not.

1. FingerPiano

There's not much else to explain beyond the title of this fun and addictive music application. Basically, you can play the piano on an iTouch via actually pressing keys just like an actual piano. The sounds are the same and you can tinker with different variants on the piano just like an electrical one (using different sounds like guitar, bass, drums, etc). All in all, it's ridiculously more fun than any one person should be allowed to have -- and it is also and EXCELLENT time waster!

2. Beatmaker

Just as the name implies, Beatmaker allows you to make your own beats just like Dr. Dre. At first, you may go into it thinking that it may be a bit shallow but the amount of beats and things you can do with them is immense and would make any actual disk jockey proud. If you've ever fancied yourself the next Kanye West (in terms of his beat making) then this application is for you. Give it a try!

3. Pandora Internet Radio

If you can think of a song off the top of your head then you can simply search for it on Pandora Internet Radio and play it almost immediately on demand. You can also pick different genres of music if you want to listen to a continuous stream of a certain kind of music over time.

4. Top 100 (iTunes)

If you don't want to actually choose your music but instead want to listen to the Top 100 most popular songs at any given time on iTunes, then the Top 100 application is for you. That's all there really needs to be said -- it really is also fantastic to catch up on what's popular in music and the variety is very refreshing.

5. DigiDrummer

Similar to FingerPiano, DigiDrummer gets you to fancy yourself an actual drummer -- just with your fingers, not your hands and wrists. It's just as fun as the FingerPiano and is also an excellent time-waster. One of the best music apps to make a long train commute home from work go by a lot faster -- and more melodically.
